Full-time

MongoDB Education has a mission to empower MongoDB developers through interactive learning, documentation, and community.

Product Documentation (Docs) is a key piece of the education portfolio and serves over 1M learners each month. Docs includes content coverage across all of MongoDB’s products and is delivered on a platform which features a rich learning experience.

The Docs Content team is a diverse team of dedicated technical writers who author the product content in collaboration with the product engineers in the company.

The Docs engineering team maintains a platform to support these writers, ingest content on a daily basis from our writers, and deliver it for consumption.

This platform uses MongoDB technology including the database, search, vector search, etc. along with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI / CD), AI, parsing and publishing capabilities to deliver sites in English in 3 other languages.

The Program Management team within the Education organization provides project management and tracking on all key content and platform engineering programs.

Programs include improvements to all aspects of how the platform is engineered along with how content is developed. This group has visibility to all Education projects in Documentation and MongoDB University which drive online training.

In this new role you’ll report to our EDU Program Management Lead to be the mission control for our Docs teams. This is a unique role that brings technical writers, engineers, designers, and product managers together in a more cohesive and effective way.

You’ll manage larger content and engineering projects that are aligned with our strategic direction to enable millions of learners.

This role will be based in Canada, either fully remote or at one of our Canada-based offices.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop process improvements for the Docs Content teams as a whole
  • Drive coordination between education content & development teams and internal stakeholders to prioritize the team's backlog and plan its release roadmap

What You’ll Bring

  • Experienced in managing technical projects and working with full-stack development teams using a variety of project management techniques.
  • Experienced with 5+ years working in a technical capacity and / or in a project or program management role.
  • Trained in working with project tracking software (e.g. JIRA, Rally, MS Project, Trello. Advanced Jira experience and project admin experience is a huge plus)
  • Inspired to innovate in areas where automation can replace manual work. The team works with JIRA and Google Docs so any programming proficiency with either or both tools is a plus.

What You Can Expect

  • In about 3 months you’ll have ramped up on MongoDB Education Documentation Content and Engineering work and refined some quick-win processes for the team.
  • In about 6 months you will be actively partnering with your key stakeholders and own executing on those processes and you’ll have rolled out or crafted new processes, templates, and frameworks, especially around planning and delivery.
  • In about 12 months you’ll have automated key processes, enhanced workflows, created reporting mechanisms, and made significant progress toward interdepartmental and cross-functional processes that improve content creation
