Sony Pictures Imageworks is seeking a Technical Recruiter to join our team!
The ideal candidate has recruitment experience within a fast paced industry. We are looking for a motivated individual who can take ownership of technical recruitment for our Systems, and Development teams and has experience recruiting for an array of technical roles, inclusive of specialized and niche positions.
The Recruiter will be responsible for acquiring talent for all open positions in the Software Development, System Engineering and Production Management departments at Imageworks.
They must be able to handle high volumes of recruits and have the ability to negotiate employment offers.
Duties & responsibilities
- Participate in full cycle recruitment for Imageworks’ Vancouver, BC, Montreal, QC and Culver City, CA locations.
- Full cycle of recruitment including sourcing, screening, interviewing, presenting to hiring managers, negotiating offers and assisting with onboarding.
- Establish a network of candidates within the Technology industries and be sourcing on a regular basis. Creatively source candidates through online postings, LinkedIn, social media, and networking events.
- Build relationships within the technical sector of the animation and visual fx industry to increase your professional network
- Ownership over sourcing and presenting candidates to the technical teams. This will involve candidate pre-screening, creating shortlists of candidates with profiles that align with specific vacancies for each department.
- Leadership and management of weekly recruitment meetings for each department to review shortlisted candidates and to effectively move all hiring processes forward.
- Management of all recruitment for our Co-op’s, Internships, Apprenticeship Programs for the technical departments.
- Establish a pipeline of candidates for open roles with regular communication.
- Provide qualified candidates in a timely manner to fill positions for all technical roles.
- Experience developing recruiting strategy and interview process alongside business leaders
- Partner with a variety of team members to manage all hiring needs for technical departments.
- Ensure candidates have a positive experience in the recruitment process
- Attend and represent the studio at recruiting job fairs, school portfolio shows, or other industry events.
- Help maintain Imageworks’ social media presence on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
- Manage an application tracking system and job postings.
- Provide regular updates to the recruitment team and team leader on vacancies and be an active contributing member of the rectification team as a whole.
Required skills
- 5+ years recruitment experience. Technical recruiting experience is an asset.
- Must be proactive and be able to work on a team as well as independently
- Candidates should be well-organized, self-motivated individuals who function well in a fast-paced high energy environment
- Strong follow up skills, with attention to detail
- Highly energized and motivated to drive the recruitment process for the technology department, as will be the main responsibility of this position.
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Excellent oral / written communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and relationship-building skills with the ability to interact effectively with team members and candidates at all level
- Ability to understand and adapt to rapidly changing priorities and to prioritize accordingly.
- Proficiency with Google Apps (Mail, Calendar, Docs, etc.), Excel, Word, Oracle, Recruiting Applicant Tracking Systems.
- Strong knowledge of the Canadian immigration process and obtaining work permits is preferred.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $66,600 / yr to $83,200 / yr. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and / or comprehensive benefits per company policy : including healthcare, tuition reimbursement, RRSP's, sick and vacation leave, standard increases as applicable.
The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
