Job descriptionLicense : Valid Security Worker’s License. Certification : Current basic Security Training (BST) certificate Experience : At least 1 year of AST experience (required). Skills : Excellent communication, observational, and problem-solving skill Pay : $18.00 per hour. Dental care. Extended health care. Flexible schedule. 8-hour shifts. Weekdays and weekends available. Expected hours : 36 – 40 per week.
Job Description :
- Lawful and Ethical Conduct : Act lawfully and with honesty and integrity. Treat everyone with courtesy, equality, and without discrimination. Perform duties with a commitment to protecting store customers, employees, and assets.
- Licensing and Identification : Always carry a valid security worker's license while on duty.
- Punctuality and Appearance : Arrive on time, in uniform, and neatly dressed.
- Surveillance and Theft Prevention : Be vigilant for theft and assist store employees by creating a deterrent to theft through presence and apprehension of shoplifters.
- Arrest and Use of Force : Ensure arrests comply with the Criminal Code of Canada (Sections , 25 & 26).
- Pursuit of Suspects : Pursue shoplifters safely and only on foot. Do not engage in unsafe actions such as vehicular pursuits.
- Incident Reporting : Report all criminal incidents to store management and submit detailed reports before the end of your shift.
- Interaction with Customers and Employees : Limit conversations to necessary interactions and do not use personal electronic devices except in emergencies.
- Shift Protocols : Report to store management at the beginning of each shift and sign the security log.
