RESPONSIBILITIES :
The Cleaning Technician plays an integral role in creating a best-in-class resident experience. They will maintain a sanitary and welcoming environment for our residents and employees by :
- Cleaning, stocking, and supplying designated facility areas through tasks that include but are not limited to; dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, garbage removal, restroom cleaning and maintaining building and common areas.
- Maintaining and stocking supply rooms
- Adhering to a weekly cleaning schedule.
- Assists with the cleaning of vacant units and Guest suites
- Performing all periodic and seasonal tasks in their designated facility
- Reserving elevators for residents after reviewing the booking calendar
- Managing the recycling, garbage, and compost program of our buildings
- Keeping the building clean and odour free
- Participates in weekly team meetings and training sessions
- Performing other duties as requested by the Maintenance Response Manager
- Following all Health and Safety regulations including safety procedures in the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent accidents and damage
- Keeping themselves aware of hazards in the workplace and taking responsibility for their own health and safety and that of their coworkers and customers
- Notifying the Maintenance Supervisor(s) and Maintenance Response Manager of any building deficiencies or maintenance issues
- In the winter months, completing salt and sand inspections on the Yardi App
- Reporting any suspicious activity immediately to the Security team for investigation
- Exhibiting a passion for quality in work performance
- Ensuring customers always receive friendly and prompt service
- Adhering to and acting in accordance with our core values and customer service promise
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE :
- High school diploma
- 2 years’ experience working as a Cleaning Technician
- Excellent verbal communications skills
- Computer skills with email and smart phone.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- Strong customer service skills
- As a condition of employment, must have a valid Criminal Background Check
- Ability to safely lift and handle heavy items and equipment up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work at repetitive and awkward positions for extended periods of time, including twisting and bending
- Flexible and highly organized with a great attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
WORKING CONDITIONS :
- Physical effort is medium.
