About the work environment :
Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home.
Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8 : 00am and 4 : 30pm with flexibility around start / end times.
We are hiring for this position out of our Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal and Calgary offices. Successful candidates who apply outside of these areas will be expected to relocate and reside in a location that is within a commutable distance.

About the qualifications :
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field; master’s degree preferred
- Certification from a recognized association focused on procurement
- 15+ years' experience in procurement; with at least 5 years leading a team
- Skilled in establishing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, vendors, customers and colleagues
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to visualize, articulate and solve complex problems and concepts
- Demonstrated experience developing strategies across multiple categories including technology, marketing and logistics spend
About the day-to-day :
- Develop a companywide procurement program, purchasing, contracts, negotiations & vendor selection processes, including frameworks for vendor evaluation, engagement and RFP ownership.
- Understand market trends and identify proper supplier expertise required to deliver plans
- Conduct capital spend analysis, identify and prioritize strategic sourcing, cost-reduction opportunities and execute corresponding RFx's and supplier negotiations as necessary
- Categorize spend, measuring against quality, service, risk and cost
- Build and implement frameworks for procurement
- Perform supplier performance and SLA measurement
- Negotiate to establish, measure, enforce contractual terms that protect the company from supplier failure to perform
- Develop, direct, and manage overall cost reduction targets and category-level long-term strategic plans tied to business and company goals, including contracted savings
- Establish cross-functional internal procurement organization process and develop internal partnerships with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Technology, Marketing, Risk, Business Development, Legal, Compliance etc.
- Implement and / or leverage existing / upcoming enterprise systems to establish automated procurement requests, invoicing, and payment processes
- Establish enterprise reporting standards on procurement volume by unit, spend and category / types
- Evaluate and improve procurement processes, procedures and governance, ensuring continuous improvement and cost savings
- Build a team of procurement experts to handle and execute all company purchasing decisions
- Implement a procurement technology stack that provides contractual visibility on 3rd party contracts
Compensation :
Peoples Group is pleased to offer employees a competitive annual salary plus a discretionary profit share opportunity. Salary for this position will vary between $200,000 and $275,000 per year depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities and experience that the chosen candidate possess.
