Non-Financial Risk Technology (NFRT) provides operational controls and surveillance capabilities to enhance the firm’s resilience to threats and fraudulent behavior. Our support of critical business functions extends to archival & records management, business continuity planning, and due diligence investigations.This role is part of the Information Controls Technology (ICT) Department, within NFRT. ICT is responsible for leveraging technical capabilities strategically and effectively to facilitate compliance with regulatory obligations and changing regulatory expectations around information barriers, conflicts of interest, communications supervision, and controls around employee investing and activities.
The candidate will join a team responsible for modernizing our technology solutions across the department, which will also include aligning with the Firm’s strategic priorities of cloud readiness, DevOps, platform reliability, and automation. The team will operate as an agile squad or center of expertise within the department and work with the product owners on identifying and prioritizing the work to maximize the value delivered through our applications.The ideal candidate should have the skills listed below but, in addition, should be a self-driven, dedicated individual who can work well with both technical and non-technical audiences. The candidate should respond well to change, quickly pick up new concepts, and devise new approaches for solving challenges in the space. Technical and analytical skills combined with strong interpersonal skills are required.
Specific responsibilities include
- Document business and functional requirements, including workflow, business rules, and use cases.
- Catalog datasets and maintain data dictionary, using firm systems, including Collibra.
- Set up, manage, and support data quality controls for datasets, using Collibra-Owl and other available systems.
- Maintain and optimize data quality scores, identify causes of score degradation, and work with data owners and technology teams to remediate any DQ issues.
- Assist data consumers and downstream system teams with any questions related to supported datasets.
- Create documentation that outlines data lineage and a framework for data governance.
- Become a subject matter expert for compliance data.
- Work with developers to define / document existing application infrastructure and architecture.
- Assist with QA / Testing to review / refine test plans and more detailed test cases.
- Work with the project team and business to identify and resolve issues that arise during projects or as part of day-to-day business operations.
- Build, develop, and grow relationships with IT and business areas vital to the success of the project.
- Manage / monitor data issues and perform impact assessments to identify critical processes.
- Perform root cause analysis, and work with Business and IT partners to resolve data issues that result from control breaks.
- Understand the Agile framework (working in Scrum / Kanban / Scrumban model); be able to work closely with development and QA in building, developing, and executing requirements. Qualifications :
- 5-7 years of experience in a large complex banking organization or major consulting organization acting in a data or business analyst role.
- Competent and proficient understanding of general technology environments (platforms, organizational structure and culture, teams involved in the successful completion of technology initiatives, etc.).
- Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
- Excellent database / SQL skills : much of the work is focused on databases.
- Good communication, teamwork, and influencing skills; ability to communicate effectively with technology and key business representatives.
- Self-motivated and can work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Experienced in Agile Scrum or Kanban lifecycles.
- Able to multitask across a number of projects.
- Proficient with MS Office applications : Excel, MS Project, Visio, Word, and PowerPoint. Desired Skills :
- Experience in the financial services field, with an emphasis on banking / compliance technology.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and professional approach.
- Hands-on experience with writing complex SQL queries.
