We are currently looking for (2) legal assistantsin litigation for one of our clients a lawfirm.
Whatsin it foryou :
Annual salary between $60.000 and $80.000 depending onexperience.
Permanent fulltimeemployment (35 hours per week 5day workweek).
Employment onsite withtransition to a hybrid mode at the end ofonboarding.

Responsibilities :
Drafting correspondence preparing and revising legaldocuments.
Managing deadlinesscheduling meetings and appointments and maintaining lawyerscalendars.
Organizing travelarrangements and bookings forlawyers.
Reviewing documents forgrammar format and compliance with legal requirements and thecompanys visual identity.
Managing files documents and records using various storage andarchiving applications such as Closing Folders Sharefile virtualdata rooms etc.
Assisting lawyersin business development projects and maintaining the professionalrelationship database.
Processingdata (time entries expenses) and openingfiles.
Liaising with clientscolleagues service departments including our Business Center andexternal parties.
Monitoringlawyers billing for files in coordination with BillingCoordinators.
Transcribingdictations audio notes andrecordings.
Contributing to thesuccessful integration of new teammembers.
Performing any relatedadministrativetasks.
Specificsrelated to the litigationdomain :
Finalizing procedures for notification and filing with the court asnecessary.
Communicating andliaising with bailiffs and courtrepresentatives.
Ensuring thetimely followup of procedures.
Participating in activities related to swearing in asneeded.
Whatyou need tosucceed :
College diploma in legal secretariat or college diploma in officeautomation.
College diploma inlegal techniques is an asset.
8years of relevant experience including experience within aprofessional services firm.
Knowledge of proceedings in the Federal Court Tax Court of Canadaand Supreme Court of Canada is considered anasset.
Indepth knowledge oflitigation procedures in Qu bec is also anasset.
Bilingualism in French andEnglish both oral and written.
Excellent communication skills both oral andwritten.
Indepth knowledge ofMicrosoft Office suite.
Teamspirit organizational skills and attention todetail.
Ability to demonstrateproactivity motivation and anticipateneeds.
Ability to managepriorities and work under tightdeadlines.
Ability to demonstratediscretion critical thinking andjudgment.
