Job Title : TuxMat Product Engineer

TuxMat is a Canadian company specializing in developing aftermarket car accessories for the North American market. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Product Engineer to join our team.

The Product Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and optimization of products throughout their lifecycle.

This role involves working closely with Product Designers, including R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure that products meet design specifications, performance standards, and customer expectations.

The Product Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties :

  • Develop and design new products or enhancements to existing products, including creating detailed specifications, prototypes, and models
  • Perform engineering analyses such as stress testing, thermal analysis, and failure mode effects analysis (FMEA) to ensure product performance and reliability
  • Partake in Product Development process, including testing and validation to ensure products meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation related to product design, development, testing, and quality standards
  • Identify and resolve engineering issues during the development and production phases, implementing corrective actions as necessary
  • Manage and track project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure that product development goals are achieved within set parameters
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized work area
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ Years of proven experience
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail in design and development work to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Problem-solving mindset oriented around continuous improvement
  • Ability to think creatively and develop novel solutions to engineering challenges
  • Flexibility to handle changing requirements and priorities in a dynamic work environment
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Solidworks, and / or other CAD software design / simulation tools
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, including mechanics, thermodynamics, and materials science
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and techniques, such as machining, injection molding, and assembly
  • A proactive and innovative mindset, with a demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and implement creative solutions
  • Knowledge of quality control methods and tools (e.g., Six Sigma, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis)
  • P.Eng designation is an asset
