Job description

Ballard’s Commercial team PLM Department has a new position for a Product Line Management Engineer, with flexible work location, office or remotely, reporting to the Product Line Management Motive Modules Director and working on an integrated Matrix working structure in support to our Buses Corporate Business units. Working closely with a team of senior PLM and product applications engineers, the successful candidate will be responsible for working as part of a matrixed cross-functional team, and will interface internally with Sales, Customer Care, Marketing, Engineering, Operations, and Finance, and externally with Ballard customers and partners in support of our many projects, commercial and strategic relationships. The person in this position is expected to support Bus Business Unit PLM specific activities related to our current and new generation family of fuel cell stacks and fuel cell module products in the areas of commercial buses.

Responsibilities :

  • Work closely and together with PLM / Product Applications in support of the following activities :

Product Portfolio and Product Strategy development

  • Strategic support to Sales
  • Support to strategic product projects
  • Support to activities related to key and strategic partnerships with focus on product and applications strategy and expertise.
  • Provide overall PLM / commercial support to Project and Program Managers with the objective to facilitate and remove barriers to Product Roadmap execution.
  • Manage and update product Roadmaps
  • Support the generation of commercial proposals
  • Support the integration of the different product platforms and geographies
  • Participate in product lifecycle management reviews, focus on business case analyzes.
  • Participate and contribute to Business Team meetings
  • Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the areas of Mechanical / Electrical / Systems Engineering or Engineering Physics degree with an interest and aptitude in clean-energy technologies and business
  • 1 – 5 years of experience related to the energy or commercial vehicle / transportation sectors
  • Proficient with standard office software tools
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work Independently
  • Ability to work remotely or in the office
