St.Amant is a non-profit organization, offering programs & services throughout Manitoba which support over 1600 children and adults with developmental disabilities and autism, and their families. Position Summary and Scope of Service :
Teachers are responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating individualized educational programs for small groups of students within the St.Amant School, in accordance with provincial legislation and consistent with the mission, philosophy and regulations of St.Amant.
St.Amant School serves school-age persons who reside at River Road Place as well as individuals who live in the community. The program offered is one component of an integrated service model in which all St.Amant resources are seamlessly coordinated and integrated to achieve shared objectives.
The primary responsibility of the Teacher is to plan and implement student educational goals through collaboration with family, coordinators, clinicians and other members of the student-centred interdisciplinary team. Teachers pursue educational goals through a combination of means including individual and small group teaching and through the supervision and direction of Instructional Assistants and Volunteers.

The Teacher is responsible for managing student educational programs ensuring adherence to policies of St.Amant, the requirements of the Department of Education and Literacy and any other external regulatory or accrediting bodies. Priority is given to providing education services which are individualized to the needs of each student, developed by each student's full interdisciplinary team and implemented as one component of an overall integrated plan of care and education.

St.Amant is a bilingual organization. Proficiency in both official languages (French / English) would be considered an asset.
As a condition of employment, successful candidates will be required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening, Adult Abuse Registry Check, Child Abuse Registry Check and Prior Contact Check.
As a Condition of Employment, new hires must complete a series of Occupational Health checks. This includes the requirement to confirm immunization or immunity of specific communicable diseases.
