Director, Strategic Initiatives (Global Fraud Management)

In this role you will :

Leads and drives a client-focused culture by supporting and delivering a winning team and simplify & deliver strategy throughout their team.

Works with the fraud leadership team to lead Global Fraud Management’s strategic plan design, development, monitoring and ongoing refinement.

  • Works with the leadership team to identify, develop and refine performance measures and key performance metrics which support the strategic management process.
  • Creates and maintains a centre of excellence by operating impartially across GFM business team to connect initiatives and identify optimization opportunities in partnership with Ops.

Coordinates the global view of programs and initiatives which support strategic goals and objective. Evaluates and monitors the effectiveness of existing strategies, program initiatives, working closely with cross-functional teams.

  • Leverages research and insights to identify emerging trends and opportunities for innovation and change. Involved in the monitoring of industry and competitive landscapes to identify potential threat and risks.
  • Gathers, analyzes, and presents GFM employee engagement metrics to drive the delivery of GFM targeted initiatives.
  • Builds strategic presentations and communications that focus on providing insight into goals, strategy, programs, processes, and vision of executive leadership, strengthening executive and employee experience.
  • Develops strong relationships with key stakeholders to become a trusted advisor and strategic partner in the identification and execution of transformational and / or continuous improvement initiatives.

Provides comprehensive advisory support.

Contributes to the overall success of the Global Fraud Management function, ensuring specific individual goals, plans and initiatives are delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.

Ensures all activities conducted in accordance with Scotiabank’s values and Code of Conduct and are in compliance with governing regulation and internal policies, procedures, and standards.

Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have :

  • 10+ years working in a leadership capacity within payments or a financial services organization.
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of fraud management including operations, with exposure to threat-intelligence / management, customer identity and access management (CIAM), and cyber security functions.
  • A strong communicator with a big picture focus, creative mindset / problem solver and has a comfort with, and a strong desire for interacting with leadership, management, employees and stakeholders.
  • Consulting experience with a focus on strategy and performance management.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading strategic planning initiatives and driving organizational growth.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and provide innovative solutions.
  • Sound strategic planning and project management skills (including change management), capable of handling multiple initiatives concurrently.
  • Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to effectively influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to establish and maintain relationships with internal and external key stakeholders.
  • Track record of building and deepening relationships as a collaborator, strategic thinker, and independently drives initiative.
  • Political sensitivity and proven superior consultative, relationship building and management skills to drive / direct a shared agenda to successful outcomes.
  • Bilingualism in Spanish is an asset.
