Job Description & Responsibilities
TCC is seeking an experienced and driven capital raising and investor relations professional to join our team and spearhead fundraising efforts for TCC’s private debt offering and to play a key role in growing TCC’s alternative lending platform.
In this role, the Manager, Capital and Investor Relations, will use expert communication skills and a keen sense of initiative to spot fund raising opportunities, develop relationships with potential partners, and manage fund raising campaigns while moving TCC closer to its assets-under-management and financial goals.
The Manager, Capital and Investor Relations, will be tasked, among other things, with growing TCC’s investor base with qualified high net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals, family offices, discretionary portfolio managers, and institutional investors.
You will be tasked with raising funds and managing investors for a series of capital vehicles, including TCC’s private credit limited partnership, that will be deployed in our asset-based lending investments.
Additional roles and responsibilities include :
- Develop and execute a comprehensive capital raising strategy to attract new investors to TCC’s Limited Partnership (the Fund )
- Identify, engage, and build relationships with potential investors including institutional investors, family offices, wealth managers, exempt market dealers, fund of funds, and high net worth individuals.
- Build and maintain a comprehensive network and database of investors and potential investors for marketing and communication for future capital raises.
- Initiate calls to prospective investors and schedule in-person meetings with such prospects to explain TCC’s Fund and overall investment opportunity and strategy.
Solicit follow up meetings with prospective investors with TCC’s senior management, as applicable.
Work closely with management and the investment team in the development of all marketing materials (including, but not limited to, prospective investor pitch decks, TCC website, presentations, and investor letters) used in the capital-raising process;
ensure consistent standards for all material and in all external communication
- Work closely with the Fund’s EMD as the Designated Representative to manage the entire investor onboarding process from initial outreach, KYC / AML, suitability, subscription, and capital call.
- Develop and manage communication protocols for all boarded investor activities and requirements, including, but not limited to, capital calls, distribution confirmations, quarterly reports, periodic performance updates, annual reports, investor redemptions, tax documentation
- Work with external vendors and partners to establish wider distribution channel of the Fund, including establishment of Fundserv code and manage the respective onboarding protocol
- Work with internal and external partners to manage and develop scalable protocols for investor record keeping, including, transfer agent services, redemptions, Fund unit purchases, bank transfers
- Work with internal and external partners to finalize the development of a Mutual Fund Trust for the Fund to ensure tax-registered account eligibility for prospective investors
- Create supporting documentation to prospective investors in preparing investor knowledge workshops, annual investor meetings, semi-annual investor advisory committees, and quarterly investor updates
- Maintain continuous engagement with existing and prospective investors through ongoing communications and reporting
- Work with internal and external partners to manage and develop US or international based fundraising vehicle or platforms for
- Participate in strategic planning with senior management to set financial goals, as well as the company’s strategic agenda.
- Assist management with strategic decisions and business initiatives associated with fundraising, marketing, and investor relations
- Attend industry conferences, road shows, join key associations, and networking events to raise awareness and generate leads
- Stay up to date on market trends, regulations, and competitor activities impacting fund raising
Qualifications, knowledge and experience
- Strong sense of integrity, professionalism and a results-oriented attitude to continually improve processes and systems, enhance efficiency, and contribute to overall organizational success
- 5+ years of direct capital raising experience, preferably within private debt, credit funds, or alternative investments
- Proven track record of successfully raising capital from institutional and individual investors
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize deliverables, and manage and meet deadlines
- Strong organizational and project management skills and attention to detail
- Existing network of investor relationships, particularly in the debt / lending space
- Strong understanding of private debt investment strategies, portfolio construction, and risk management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex investment concepts
- Strong Microsoft Office Skills (including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
- Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset and drive to achieve aggressive fundraising targets
- Willingness to travel frequently to meet with prospective investors
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degrees or certificates (MBA, CPA, CFA) may be considered an asset
