Admitting Clerk (RFT 1.0 FTE)

Duties

  • Responsible for processing inpatient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Responsible for registering new and re-registering patients for outpatient services.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate data for statistical reporting purposes.
  • Tracking bed usage and waiting lists.
  • Verify and validate patient’s insurance and ascertain if a patient has additional insurance coverage.
  • Prepare Admission and Discharge Forms for the clinical record.
  • Work in a manner that is in compliance with staff and patient / client safety practices, policies and procedures of The Royal.
  • Ensure a work environment that is conducive to The Royal’s Anti-Racism, Harassment & Discrimination Free Workplace policy.
  • Other Clerical duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

  • Completion of Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent.
  • Post secondary training / experience in office administration preferred.
  • Proficiency in latest version of Word, Excel, Microsoft Office.
  • Typing skills 45 net words per minute minimum.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to be discreet and uphold the strongest measure of confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with ADT / OPR Patient Registration Systems.
  • Bilingual (French / English) is mandatory.English level A- is mandatory in oral comprehension, expression, reading, and writing.

Salary Range : 26.04 to 28.54 per hour
