We’re building the team and are looking for a Head of Technology, Tim Hortons based in our Toronto office. We are looking for a hands-on and highly technical leader, that can enable strategic and tactical projects to drive growth and improve efficiency, with a track record of managing high scale, consumer and Franchisee facing digital technologies.

The leader must be strong particularly in solution architecting efficient, scalable, and elegant technologies to drive business strategies and outcomes and in managing a diverse team of technical specialists and multiple cross-functional stakeholders.

What you'll do :

  • Leading technology teams including Engineering, Design, QA, Restaurant Technology and Advanced Analytics in their day-to-day operations, supervising heads of departments, and setting performance goals.
  • Help define and advance an internal Tim Hortons engineering- and advanced analytics-forward culture and strategy, including empowering cross-functional departments with the right tools, data, skillsets / training, and organization structures.
  • Enable teams to drive product execution to enable Tim Hortons to serve guests daily through in restaurant technology solutions like point of sale, digital menu boards, network, Kiosks etc and also integrated digital technologies like delivery, Mobile order and Pay etc.
  • Align with key Franchisees in the technology forum to ensure technology direction before executing projects
  • Collaborate with multiple business and technical teams to define and deliver complex customer facing solutions and advance partnerships, technology platforms and external relationships.
  • While mostly managing a large team, the ability to roll up your sleeves and lead from the front’ when needed is critical.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight on triaging, troubleshooting and resolving high severity production issues.
  • Actively track and report progress to senior stakeholders on progress and value delivered.
  • Conduct technical reviews of products and solutions to evaluate their applicability for both internal teams, franchisees and consumers.
  • Develop, track, and control annual capital and operating budgets and technical spend for purchasing tools, staffing and ensuring effective operations.

What you'll need :

  • 8+ years in a Senior Management role.
  • A track record as a strategic and problem solver with an ability to translate vision into outcomes while fostering a positive and innovative workplace.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Data Science and Analytics, Engineering, or Business; Master or PhD is a plus.
  • Experience and ability to provide exceptional leadership to a diverse technology team (designers, engineers, and data scientists) and to build enthusiastic, high performing teams across multiple specializations while focusing on tactical and strategic issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects / initiatives, objectives, groups, or activities.
  • Experience in driving large-scale change across multiple lines of business in a global organization.
  • Strong organization, analytical and problem-solving skills with an end-user focus.
  • Ability to prioritize, self-initiate, and create momentum, even with partial guidance or information.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to effectively communicate updates and desired outcomes in a succinct manner to a variety of audiences.
  • Ideally, previous experience in technology consulting roles / companies, having applied technical solutioning to various client projects.
