Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
Mettler Toledo is seeking to hire a Field Service Technician who will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing industry related products, perform calibrations and preventative maintenance duties, in the city of Vancouver and surrounding areas.
As a Field Service Technician, you will also resolve first line customer service issues and accurately complete documentation and service reports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Troubleshoot, install and repair all Mettler Toledo Products within Business Area
- Responsible for meeting daily service repair needs and driving customer satisfaction
- Complete installs, repairs, calibrations, customer training, performance verifications and preventative maintenance on equipment in the field to satisfy customer and enhance service profitability
- Participate in Service sales opportunities and assists with promoting service products
- Ensure tools and test equipment are properly maintained and calibrated
- Establish and maintain a close working relationship with Regional Service Leader, Senior FSTs and Support Specialists in order to support the needs of customers and to develop technical product knowledge
- Provide technical solutions consultant and application support to the customer and sales team, to include technical review of sales orders;
- Interface with Mettler Toledo sales employees to meet customer requirements, including performing joint sales calls
- Responsible for or assist with project management activities
- Assist in effort to modernize, upgrade and convert customer existing equipment
- Insure vehicle service and maintenance requirements are met
What You Need to Succeed
- Minimum 2 year college diploma in Engineering / Electronics / Instrumentation Technology and / or Computer Science
- Experience in a technical support role, technical troubleshooting or technical installation in the industrial electronics technology marketplace.
Working knowledge of Production packaging environments in the food industry is beneficial.
- Experience working within a customer facing service environment is a plus
- The ability to lift, transport and place test weights and equipment of up to 20 Kg (testing of equipment may require movement of up to 300Kg in 20 Kg increments)
- Willing to work overtime and up to 50% overnight travel
- Must be available to work flexible hours and provide on-call standby on a rotational basis
- Must possess a Valid Driver's License
- Must be open to acquiring an Ontario "DZ" commercial driver's license
- Ability to travel within Canada and the U.S.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
