Ourclient a highly respected and leading Manufacturing Firm is seekinga talented and experienced Senior Accountant to join their team.

The Senior Accountant plays a crucial role in the firm leading theaccounting department and reporting directly to theController.

Summary

TheSenior Accountant is responsible for maintaining and improving allaccounting processes and procedures to ensure the timely andaccurate preparation of financial statements.

This role willcollaborate closely with the Controller to ensure complianceefficiency andaccuracy.

Accountabilities :

Ensure all financial statements and monthly quarterly and annualschedules are completed in a timely accuratemanner

Assist in the preparationof monthly forecasts and annual budget commentaries andinvestigation of variances

Monthend close including journal entries andaccruals

Fixed assets includingphysical count handling of capital appropriation requestsperforming ROI analysis and supporting non finance leaders oninvestment decisions

Managerialcost management functions including costing standards controlsanalytics EOZ physical inventoryprocess

Ensure monthly accountreconciliations are performed accurately completely and ontime

Responsible for theimplementation of robust internal controls monitoring complianceand for the maintenance of adequatedocumentation

Key contact forannual internal SOX audit and any externalaudits

Ensure compliance withtaxes including HST and US statesales

Assist in preparation ofquarterly and annual tax informationsubmissions

Partnering withininternal and cross functional teams to support adhocrequests

Controller ship Mindsetensuring all activities are executed fully in compliance with USGAAP SOX and Corporate reportingpolicies

Other duties as assigned(including conversion relatedtasks)

Requirements

A University / College degree inaccounting along with a professional accounting designation such asCPA or actively working towards obtainingone

3 5 years relevant experiencein accounting and at least 1 year of leadershipexperience

Solid workingknowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) andSOX with experience driving improvements in internalcontrols

Demonstrated planningorganizational and time managementskills

Strong understanding ofcost accounting principles

Precise attention to detail

Strong written and verbal communications skills; ability tointeract clearly and confidently with all levels in theorganization

High level ofintegrity and ethical standards
