The Opportunity :

We’re looking for a Senior Portfolio Analyst to join our Investment Management Team.

This role requires you to perform essential duties 1-3 days per week in your assigned Aviso Office.

Reporting to the VP, Head of Multi-Asset Portfolios the Senior Portfolio Analyst is responsible for supporting the research, management, and oversight of our investment portfolios.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of financial markets, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

What your day looks like :

  • Portfolio monitoring monitor the performance and composition of standalone and multi asset portfolios, identifying tilts, risks, trends, and opportunities for adjustments and changes
  • Portfolio and fund analysis conduct fundamental analysis and comparisons between funds, strategies, and portfolios to evaluate and support portfolio decisions
  • Risk monitoring and management assess and manage portfolio risk via quantitative tools, risk models, and scenario analysis
  • Performance reporting prepare regular performance and attribution reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, providing insights into portfolio performance and attribution
  • Market research gather and summarize third party market and economic research to help the team to stay informed about market developments, economic trends in daily morning team meetings
  • Rebalancing and trading back up assist in periodic rebalancing and re-optimization trading of investment portfolios. Act as back up and continuity for Lead and Second Trader, assist in daily cashflow management trading
  • Back office support Work with back office to reconcile trades and ensure accurate data. This includes support of derivative traded by NEI and sub-advisors
  • Reporting Work with internal departments to ensure investment details of all reporting are accurate. This includes marketing materials as well as regulatory documents
  • Communications communicate portfolio and performance updates, and market insights to internal and external stakeholders as needed
  • Compliance liaise with Compliance Team to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies related to investment management and reporting

Requirements

Your experience and skills :

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field
  • CFA designation combined with 7+ years of experience in portfolio and fund analysis
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling, quantitative analysis, and data visualization
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and quality in analysis and reporting
  • Solid understanding of financial markets, investment principles, and portfolio management concepts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Bloomberg, and other financial analysis tools such as Factset and Morningstar Direct
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts and analysis to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Self starter with an ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset

Salary

This position is posted with an expected salary range of $103,000 - $131,000 CAD annually. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.
