Job Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Flight Operations Quality Assurance, this position supports the continuous improvement of aviation safety at Porter Airlines through focus on the auditing and evaluation of the flight operations management system and operational functions.
- Duties & Responsibilities Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to : Evaluate the conformance of flight operations functions with applicable regulations and standards, and stated operational needs;
- Identify potential hazards to flight operations and areas requiring improvement; Assess the effectiveness of safety risk controls;
- Prepare audit plans, checklists, sampling plans and other audit documentation related to internal (first party) audits; Develop detailed and evidence-based reports on all assigned audits;
- Participate in periodic departmental safety meetings; Maintain the confidentiality of organizational safety reporting systems and information acquired in the course of audit duties;
- Support the conduct of third party audits of Porter as needed; Serve as a Safety Ambassador and resource for all employees;
- Actively participates in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations;

- Qualifications Working knowledge of Transport Canada requirements for quality assurance and the IATA operational safety audit program Familiarity with commercial flight operations pilot experience preferred Experience in the IOSA certification of a commercial air operator Previous experience as an aviation internal auditor Excellent time management, written and verbal communication skills;
- keen attention to detail Impartiality, integrity, tenacity, diplomacy and self-reliance are key attributes University degree and / or acceptable combination of education, training and / or related work experience Ability to secure and maintain restricted airport security clearance Must maintain a valid passport;
must be able to travel domestically and internationally when required on short notice
