Your Opportunity
Our National office located in Toronto is looking for an Articling Student to join our Office of the General Counsel for the 2025 / 2026 articling year.
The Articling Student will be part of a dynamic in-house team and undertake a broad range of duties such as :
- Work in each of the OGC’s practice areas, including corporate & commercial, litigation & regulatory, employment and privacy.
- Conduct research on a diverse range of legal matters that impact the firm.
- Draft and review legal documents, such as memoranda, contracts and policies.
- Keep apprised of developments in the law, regulations and case law.
- Conduct fact-gathering and exposure analysis for pre-litigation matters.
- Respond to inquiries and collaborate with legal counsel on a wide range of legal files and issues.

Your experience and education
- Currently enrolled in a Common Law program at a recognized law school.
- Completion of licensing examinations prior to commencing articling.
- Eligible to be registered in the Law Society of Ontario’s Licensing process and eligible to commence articling in the 2025-2026 licensing cycle with the Law Society of Ontario.
- You have superior academic credentials.
- You have sharp legal analytical skills the ability to analyze information, identify key issues, and manage processes from inception to completion.
- You have persuasive communication skills and the ability to interact with individuals at all levels, both in the legal and business community.
- You have excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively present legal opinions, arguments and information in a clear manner.
- You have excellent time management, prioritization and organizational skills to effectively manage a high volume of files and projects with competing deadlines.
- You have demonstrated commitment to professional ethics and integrity.
- You have strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative nature, and the ability to work in a cross-team environment.
- You have high values in teamwork, client / customer service and professionalism.
- You have the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Contribution to Articling Licensing Process : BDO will cover the cost of the articling licensing process.
