Your role
Join our dynamic Internal Control team as a Specialist, where you'll play a pivotal role in maintaining and supporting CBC / Radio-Canada’s compliance programs such as the Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR), the IT General Controls (ITGC) or the Fraud Risk Assessment (FRA) .
We are seeking a skilled individual to conduct internal control evaluations, collaborate with business process owners to ensure adherence to internal control requirements, and offer some guidance on establishing effective control procedures.
As a Specialist, you'll conduct control tests, participate in the preparation of comprehensive reports on financial risks and controls, and help provide strategic recommendations as necessary.
Additionally, you'll serve as a representative on various internal control matters to all of CBC’s business areas and support functions in their ongoing activities.
In addition, you will be working with highly confidential and sensitive matters concerning monitoring, tracking and escalation deficiencies identified within key business processes.
Tasks :
Participate in execution of internal control activities.
Deliver consistent, high-quality audit and advisory assignments; provide insights related to governance, risk, and controls.
Perform analysis and testing to ensure compliance with the financial policy framework.
Provide guidance on risk and control matters, including remediation actions to address issues, and recommend improvements.
Collaborate with business partners to design and implement new procedures and controls, as required.
Effectively communicate with our partners, presenting information in both oral and written formats.
Managing client relations efficiently.
Collaborate on ad hoc requests or projects related to process, risks, and controls.
Requirements :
Holds a professional accounting designation (CPA, CIA, CFE or equivalent) or is currently working towards one.
Bilingualism (English and French).
Between 1 to 3 years of experience in a related field.
Knowledge of risk management and internal control frameworks such as Sarbanes Oxley (SOX), COSO, COBIT and the IIA’s Professional Practices Framework, including controls auditing techniques, risk assessment methodologies and best practices.
Knowledge of Accounting principles and practices, along with the ability to conduct an analysis of issues.
Broad knowledge and experience working with computer software systems (specifically Google suite and Microsoft Office).
Capacity to interpret and reorganized data and information of a complex nature for presentation to all levels of management, in a clear and concise manner.
Knowledge of CBC systems, policies and processes is considered an asset.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
