Job Description
Sinai Health is looking for a Clinical Research Coordinator to support our Division of Orthopaedic Surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital.
The Clinical Research Coordinator is an integral part of the busy, dynamic, and growing Division of Orthopaedic Surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital.
In this role, you will be expected to exercise sound judgment and independence while managing the day-to-day administrative and research activities.
You will demonstrate a strong commitment to quality customer service, applying excellent problem solving and communication skills to ensure the success of the department.
In this role you will :
- Recruit and obtain consent from eligible patients for studies and administration of functional outcome questionnaires
- Coordinate processing of patient-reported outcomes as mandated by Ministry of Health for hip and knee arthroplasty outcomes
- Liaise with the Ministry of Health for mandated reporting of patient reported outcomes for hip / knee arthroplasty surgeries
- Maintain surgical registry and submission of data to Canadian Joint Replacement Registry
- Coordinate multi-centre clinical trials and ensure proper completion and filing of regulatory and ethics submissions
- Develop and budget future clinical trials
- Conduct regular reviews of relevant literature
- Analyze and interpret data
- Write grant applications, literature reviews, manuscript writing, presentation of research findings and coordination of multicenter research clinical trials (RCT’s)
- Statistical analysis of data from ongoing / future projects
- Develop and present material for publication using strong written, verbal and graphical communications skills
- Appraise manuscripts and proposals of investigators
- Utilize study findings in the development and writing of grant proposals for new research activities
- Create summary reports and manage the annual auditing of any involved centers to ensure data quality
- Provide training of new personnel on database entry and study protocols
- Other duties as assigned

Mandatory
- Successful completion of a University Degree in a relevant field from an accredited educational institution
- Related research experience in an academic or clinical setting
- Applicants with proven equivalent recent and related training and experience may be considered
Preferred
- Successful completion of a Master’s Degree in a relevant field from an accredited educational institution
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and SPSS or STATA
