Arcadis Building Engineering Group is looking for a licensed Sr. Electrical Engineer (Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec) to join our growing Montreal team.
The Sr. Electrical Engineer will lead electrical building design from concept and detail design, to construction support, for projects in the Montreal area, as well as collaborating with other Arcadis offices all throughout North America..

Role accountabilities :
Prepares electrical designs and drawings of building facilities and building electrical systems including power, lighting, fire alarm, PA, IT, etc.
using computer-aided tools (e.g. EDSA and ETAP analytical software, CDEGS grounding software, Revit, AutoCad, and MicroStation CAD systems)
- Assist to identify cost-effective solutions to design problems
- Leads electrical design teams on larger multi-discipline projects
- Liaises internally with project managers and other discipline project leaders to obtain project information and to discuss specific design related problems
- Assists in creating and presenting technical reports regarding the nature, status, and results of design or study assignments
- Requires the ability to recognize the implications of assigned work on the work of other disciplines, and ensures the necessary coordination occurs
Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience :
- A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering plus 10+ years experience in buildings electrical systems design preferred in a consulting or utility environment.
- Must have or be eligible for the ing. or Eng. designation in Quebec
- Strong skills in the use of the REVIT modeling system is an asset
- Electrical design and specification experience in the following building systems : power distribution in buildings, lighting design, fire alarm systems, card access and camera security systems, PA systems, telecommunications systems and audio-visual systems
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
