Responsibilities
• Review, analyze, and address manufacturing job order variances, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions in coordination with production teams.
• Verify and monitor all open job orders, ensuring order details align with actual shop floor requirements, production schedules, and quality department receipts.
• Audit and ensure accurate shop floor time recording against specific job orders to maintain precise labor cost bucketing.
• Conduct regular sample inventory counts and physical test audits to resolve discrepancies between physical counts and inventory records in Syspro ERP.
• Oversee inventory valuation, ensuring strict compliance with standard accounting principles and company guidelines.
• Review, audit, and correct Bills of Materials (BOM) to reflect accurate component usage, material costs, and production outputs.
• Prepare detailed weekly and monthly reports on job order variances, inventory accuracy, and production cost trends for management analysis.
• Perform month-end reconciliations, cost analysis associated with procurement and production, and generate key Management Information Systems (MIS) reports.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including production, purchasing, quality, and ERP support to streamline processes and resolve system issues.
Qualifications
• 1 to 2 years of dedicated accounting analysis or cost accounting experience in a manufacturing or production setting.
• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline.
• Proven track record performing job costing, inventory valuation, and variance root-cause analysis (bookkeeping-only backgrounds will not be considered).
• Direct hands-on experience using Syspro ERP software within a manufacturing framework.
• Ability to work 100% on-site at the Scarborough location.
