Senior Credit Research Analyst, Canadian Financials Global Fixed Income
This is a great job for a Credit Research Analyst to focus on the Canadian Financials sector to take a leading role in strategy, analysis and research in the assigned regions & asset classes.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for undertaking credit research on various Canadian corporate issuers across a number of other industries, with emphasis on telecommunications, REITs and consumer.

The role is located in Toronto and the candidate will join a local team that is focused on growing its third-party fixed income AUM in strategies such as Canadian Core, Canadian Core Plus and Canadian Core Plus Climate Transition.
The Canadian fixed income team is a part of the broader investment function globally and so not only will you provide input to other teams across the firm but also benefit from the resources and scale that we have available.
As a member of the Global Credit Research team you will be responsible for undertaking analysis and strategic research across the Canadian financials sector, including lead coverage of Canadian banks, insurers and financial services cooperatives / credit unions.
Working alongside other financials sector research team members you will use your judgement and experience to make portfolio management recommendations for both Canadian and global portfolios.
You will work collaboratively with research colleagues, portfolio managers and other AI research and strategy teams to formulate and underpin security selection recommendations.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the global financials sector.
Skills and experience we’re looking for :
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the Canadian financials sector, preferably 10 years or more
A credit research background would be beneficial
Significant Asset Management industry experience with evidence of delivering research and / or investment ideas that contribute to superior, risk adjusted results
Experience in Canadian and / or US investment grade portfolio management would be an asset
A relevant degree and CFA or CPA qualification or progress towards a relevant Masters degree
