What's The Opportunity?
Aecon's Corporate Communications & Marketing Team produces compelling digital and print content to inform, engage, and connect Aecon's people and communities.
With multiple offices and sites across the company, keeping everybody up to date in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment is a huge challenge - and we thrive on it.
We also lead the way when it comes to building and maintaining a strong and consistent brand through a wide range of marketing collateral - videos, brochures, presentations, signage, ads, tradeshow materials - for both internal and external clients.
And when it's event time, this is the go-to team for conference and event logistics, making it happen for corporate functions of all sizes and scopes, from executive leadership meetings to fun holiday celebrations.
What You'll Do
Reporting directly to the Vice President, Corporate Communications & Marketing, the Senior Manager, Marketing is the team's dedicated lead for developing strategic marketing content and campaigns in support of Aecon's corporate and business development objectives in regional, national, and international markets.
In this role, you will be working as a vital member of the Corporate Communications & Marketing Team in collaboration with Business Development Leads from Aecon's multiple and diverse operating sectors, ensuring a consistent brand strategy and clearly defined "Aecon Advantage" marketing assets to support internal and external efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop strategic relationships with Aecon business development leads across the company and work closely with each group to understand their respective businesses / industry sectors.
- Determine the competitive market advantage(s) for each group and collaborate on the development of marketing and communications strategies to support brand awareness and business development efforts in each respective sector.
- Develop and drive compelling marketing strategies and content to support overall business objectives, including print assets, tradeshow exhibitions, client presentations, digital assets, website content, etc.
leveraging multiple communications channels and tactics.
- Support our operating sectors from a brand perspective on the development of new and transitioning business lines, ensuring alignment with Aecon's brand architecture.
- Lead corporate brand content development efforts - from ideation to implementation - in collaboration with internal clients and Corp Comms / Corp Affairs teams.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis and planning to support marketing and brand awareness strategies.
What You Bring to the Team
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, business, or closely related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years of marketing experience, including at least 3 years' marketing management experience.
- Broad experience in evolving complex information into compelling marketing digital and print content for the purposes of driving audience engagement and new business opportunities.
- Experience creating influential brand awareness and communications campaigns and successfully collaborating with business operations to implement.
- Exceptional written / oral communications skills and storytelling lens; ability to take complex ideas and transition into clear, compelling content and meaningful messaging.
- Highly collaborative team leadership style with the ability to respond quickly and effectively to ever-changing situations toward best-in-class services for our internal / external clients.
- Strong business acumen, skills, and maturity; ability to work effectively with others even under stressful deadlines situations.
- Highly developed organizational and time management skills; ability to successfully plan and execute multiple priorities with tight deadlines and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to think critically and draw from several resources (and interact with all levels of staff) to create unified and persuasive marketing collateral materials.
- Experience and maturity in dealing with sensitive matters and strong business acumen to enable tactful problem-solving and collaborative-driven solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Canva.
