Program Director - First Nazarene Childcare & Learning Academy
Location : Lansing, Michigan

Position Summary :
The Program Director serves as the licensee and administrator of First Nazarene Childcare & Learning Academy, ensuring compliance with Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) Child Care Licensing rules and maintaining high-quality educational and developmental programming. This leadership role oversees daily operations, staff management, curriculum implementation, and parent communication. (Note : Financial and bookkeeping responsibilities are managed separately.)
Key Responsibilities :
- Serve as the designated licensee with the State of Michigan, ensuring compliance with all applicable child care licensing regulations.
- Oversee daily operations, including staff scheduling, child enrollment, safety protocols, and program quality.
- Supervise, support, and evaluate teaching staff and assistants; ensure all training and certifications are current.
- Develop and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities promoting social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Maintain accurate records for children and staff as required by licensing and internal policies.
- Act as the primary contact for families, addressing concerns, facilitating conferences, and fostering a welcoming environment.
- Coordinate with external agencies and partners such as licensing consultants and early childhood professionals.
- Manage regulatory inspections and reporting, including corrective action plans if needed.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and professional culture among staff and families.
Additional Connection : Collaborate with the lead pastor of Lansing First Church of the Nazarene to connect staff and families with church ministries as needed.
