Building Maintenance Technician

Join Triovest, one of the largest privately-owned Canadian commercial real estate companies, as a Building Maintenance Technician for Centre on Barton in Hamilton.

The primary objective of this role is to ensure that the assigned portfolio is being managed and maintained in a safe and environmentally responsible manner and to the highest level of operational efficiency.

The hours for this role are Monday to Friday, 8 : 00am 4 : 00pm.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Overseeing general tidiness of property (95% exterior & 5% interior) and assisting contracted staff with seasonal duties including landscaping, mowing, snow and garbage removal.
  • The daily pickup of garbage, cardboard and recycling.
  • Planning, prioritizing, performing and monitoring preventative maintenance, including : painting, plumbing and other minor repairs as required.
  • Responding to and completing service requests in a timely manner.
  • Performing daily inspections of the property (internal / external).
  • Assisting with the set-up and take-down of promotional events.
  • Working outdoors during different weather conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Minium of one (1) year of building maintenance experience.
  • Experience with completing basic property repairs.
  • Valid Driver’s License is required.
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends.
  • Experience working with and overseeing contractors is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Building Management Software, Angus Anywhere is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety procedures (WHMIS, Lockout / tag out, fall protection and mold) is considered an asset.
  • Must be physically capable of walking a significant amount (approximately 6-10 miles a day) between properties.
  • The ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and perform work on ladders.
