As Maintenance Leader, you have oversight for maintenance activities for two water treatment plants, the Glenmore Dam and Reservoir and approximately 40 pumping facilities and 20 storage reservoirs.
You will collaborate with other Leaders within the utility to create and sustain a unified leadership culture with a strong customer focus that enables the achievement of an uninterrupted supply of high quality drinking water for the citizens of Calgary.
As an active member of the Water Treatment Leadership team, and the leader of a diverse group of mechanical and electrical staff, you model a One Calgary approach to business and contribute to building trust and collaboration across the utility.
You will share responsibility for achieving objectives outlined in The City's Action Plan. Primary duties include :
- Ensure that preventative and emergency maintenance is performed efficiently and effectively.
- Help to develop operating budgets and business work plans.
- Review monthly financials.
- Uphold a safe and healthy work environment.
- Provide strategic leadership, mentoring and development opportunities for staff.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure minimum disruption of scheduled capital and maintenance activities.
- Oversee procurement and project management.
Qualifications
- A completed 2 year Technical Diploma with at least 10 years of related progressive experience that includes supervision.
- Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
- Demonstrated strong abilities in : change leadership; strategic and analytical thinking; strong communication; sound judgment and decision-making;
and, planning and organizing.
- Success in this position requires strong change management and team leadership skills.
