Belvika is growing fast and is currently seeking Maintenance Mechanics to join our McPherson facility based in Markham, ON.

The successful candidate will :

• Set up and troubleshoot packaging machines and lines; Vertical & horizontal cartoners; gluers, conveyors, SUP / VFFS baggers, multi-weigh scale / filler system and metal detectors.
• Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards;
• Adjust machine components, machine tension and pressure according to size or processing angle of product;
• Regulate machine flow or speed;
• Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions to a Supervisor;
• Inspect and remove defective products and packaging material;
• Clean, oil, and make minor adjustments or repairs to machinery and equipment, such as opening valves or setting guides;
• Monitor & Perform preventative maintenance on the production line, watching for problems such as pile-ups, jams, or glue that isn't sticking properly;
• Repair areas in the facility that require attention as per work orders;
• Train Packaging Equipment Operators;
• Assist with production on lines as required;
• Be proficient in the use of the CMMS system for documenting repairs, Preventative maintenance and parts inventory management &

ordering parts through the system.

• Other duties as assigned;
• Weekends-Saturdey4-8 hours(on a sign-up basis) not every Saturday!

Education / Work experience requirements :

• 2-3 years’ experience as a Maintenance Technician or Mechanic specializing in secondary packaging (i.e. shrink wrapping, overwrapping and cartooning);
• Engineering / Technical Education background;
• Forklift or Scissor Lift certification an asset;
• CPG experience preferred, but not required.
• IMPORTANT* Licensed Millwright not required
