About the BCLDB :

The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is one of two branches of government that provide oversight for the beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis industries in the province.

The LDB is responsible for the wholesale distribution of liquor and cannabis and operates the retails brands BCLIQUOR and BC Cannabis Stores.

The LDB is committed to government's goals of making life better for people in B.C., improving services, and ensuring a sustainable province for future generations.

Retail Operations, encompassing the three retail business units of Merchandising, Marketing and Store Operations, is responsible for the daily operations of the 198 BC Liquor Stores.

The Retail division develops and executes key strategies to drive business, creates systems and processes, and establishes daily retail procedures to maximize operational excellence, while upholding BCLDB's core values of service, relationships, and results.

About this role :

The Regional Manager continuously improves existing services and processes to drive service excellence, increase profitability and ensure alignment with LDB's strategic goals and operating plans.

The Regional Manager demonstrates the highest level of leadership and ethical standards and drives store leadership teams to continually achieve a higher standard by providing effective coaching, mentoring and guidance.

A criminal record check is required.

Candidates must have the ability to travel overnight within the Province of British Columbia.

Position requirements :

Education and Experience :

Degree, diploma or certificate in business or retail management with a minimum of 4 years of recent, related experience*.

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered, i.e., secondary (high) school diploma or equivalent certificate with 6 years of recent, related experience*.

  • Recent, related experience must have occurred within the last 8 years and include the following :
  • Experience in managing retail operations with sales exceeding $10 million, demonstrating progressive responsibility in previous managerial roles.
  • Experience in overseeing and managing multiple retail units, collectively generating over $50 million in revenue.
  • Experience managing complex and / or high-volume operations implementing sales initiatives, driving financial metrics, and / or establishing group / individual goals.

Preference may be given to candidates with experience in the following :

  • Experience overseeing a large multi-unit retail operation.
  • Experience working in the beverage alcohol industry.
  • Providing effective coaching and support to achieve strategic results.
