Job description
Production Supervisor – Weld

Modern Technical Staffing is recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading automotive manufacturer, who is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor – Weld to join their growing team on the day shift. This role is critical in overseeing the day-to-day safety, quality, and efficiency of the Weld Department. The successful candidate will ensure production is completed accurately and on time to meet customer delivery requirements.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional with strong leadership skills and welding/manufacturing expertise to play a key role in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead, train, and manage employees in the Welding Department, including Lead Hands and Production team members.
  • Ensure compliance with established standards for labour efficiency, material utilization, and product quality.
  • Oversee daily production meetings and implement corrective actions to keep production on schedule.
  • Ensure all production meets company quality standards and is delivered on time as per the master schedule.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate reports (production, labour, rework, scrap, and attendance) and update visual management boards.
  • Manage proper material storage, identification, labeling, and organization in the plant.
  • Conduct weekly department meetings focusing on safety, quality, and efficiency.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education with a technical focus preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with strong welding knowledge.
  • Available to work the afternoon shift from 3:30 pm to 12:00 am.
  • Proven supervisory or leadership experience in production.
  • Proficiency with welding machines, processes, and ability to read/interpret blueprints.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Computer literacy, including MS Office (Word, Excel).
