The proudly independent, digital-only Village Medianetwork is searching for a talented Editor to fill a full-time position in Oshawa!

You are driven to keep your readers informed and connected by practising service journalism. You are committed to understanding the community you serve and guiding your newsroom to confront those issues through a solutions journalism approach.
Your Skills are Learned and Earned
Your commitment to fairness, accuracy, transparency and impeccable journalism ethics comes from education and real world experience. To start, you have a bachelor’s degree or diploma in Journalism, or a related field. You have experience in a newsroom setting. You have exceptional writing and editing skills and a thorough knowledge of CP style. You will have the ability to build strong relationships with those inside our Village and within the communities we serve. Familiarity with the Durham Region is a strong asset.
Your Responsibilities
Lead an editorial team in Oshawa
Guide and develop a skilled team of writers and editors
Ensure all content is impeccable and exercise excellent editorial judgment
Demonstrate comprehensive community coverage
You will need to have a valid driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle. The successful candidate must live in or near Oshawa, Ontario.
