This position acts as a liaison between vendors and FPI personnel, while managing vendor performance and inventory.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Coordinate the cost-effective purchasing of materials, supplies and services for various internal departments (ie. Production/Maintenance/R&D) as required by requisition and MRPManage assigned vendor inventories by considering potential supply shortages and order lead times, ensuring on time delivery, analyzing purchase price variance, and processing defective/rejected partsManage assigned vendor performance including freight costs, terms and standard costsContinually source and develop competent vendorsNegotiate favourable terms for vendor pricingCreate and maintain productive relationships with internal departmentsMaintain information of all purchased parts in ERP system (Epicor)Monitor the integrity of the Epicor Manufacturing systemAct as liaison between vendors and FPI personnelMaintain professionalism and act in a manner consistent with FPI mission and guiding principlesFollow all Health & Safety programs; actively participate in Health & Safety training with the purpose of gaining knowledge and understandingContribute to a positive work environment focusing on Lean and continuous improvement initiativesOther related duties as requiredQUALIFICATIONS & SPECIFICATIONS:Abilities/Skills/KnowledgeExcellent communication skills (written/verbal) in EnglishStrong organizational skills; able to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously Demonstrated attention to detail and problem solving skillsStrong working knowledge of a variety of programs and comfortable with technology, including MS Office Suite and web-based applicationsKnowledge of Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) processes/conceptsAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesWorking knowledge of ERP software is an assetFamiliarity with Engineering/Technical drawings is an asset Education/TrainingHigh School diploma or equivalentCertificate in Purchasing, Logistics or Supply Chain; or equivalent Experience3-5 years of buying experience preferably in a manufacturing environmentPrevious experience with off-shore sourcing and freight importing is an assetWHY WORK AT REGENCY?The salary being offered for this position is $60,400-$75,500 per year.
