Role Responsibilities
Do you have exceptional customer relations skills and thrive in a fast-paced environment? The Permitting and Evaluation Section of the Driver, Carrier and Vehicle Safety Branch is seeking a Permit Analyst to support the delivery of TEC’s Permit Program to the transportation industry.
As a Permit Analyst, you will work directly with clients on permit related inquiries and analyze applications for a wide range of weight, dimension, licensing, and exemption permits. Responsibilities also include authorization and payment processing.
You will provide guidance to industry and the public on commercial transport regulations and permit policies. Strong communication skills, professionalism, and proficiency with computer systems are essential. Knowledge of the trucking industry and permitting processes is an asset.
Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Permit Application Analysis:
Analyze permit applications to determine permit requirements. Evaluate vehicles, loads, and routes for safety and restrictions. Provide advice to clients or their agents when issues are identified.
- Provision of Technical Information and Advice:
Provide accurate guidance to carriers, enforcement agencies, municipalities, and the public on regulations, policies, and permit requirements. Use detailed knowledge of the provincial highway system and trucking industry to select safe and practical routes for commercial vehicles.
- Program and System Support:
Provide technical process support to TRAVIS Web users, agents, and municipal permit authorities.
