Job description

Who We Are

At Gibbons Whistler, we’re all about Making People Happy. Since 1979, we have been the backbone of Whistler hospitality bringing people together through unforgettable experiences.

Everything we do is rooted in our core values: Encourage Trust, Have Fun, Show Kindness, Lead With Purpose, and Commit to Excellence.

The Opportunity

Buffalo Bill’s is seeking a dynamic General Manager to lead our incredible team and continue our legacy as a premier destination for locals and visitors alike. You will oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring an exceptional guest experience, building a high-performing team, and driving business growth. This is a hands-on role where your leadership will directly impact the culture, profitability, and reputation of the venue.

Wage and Perks of the Job

  • $65,000 - $80,000 based on experience and qualifications
  • 50% off food & beverage at all Gibbons venues
  • Adventure perks: 20% off The Adventure Group for you and your friends & family
  • Accommodation discounts: 20% off at The Adara Hotel and Gibbons Life Condos
  • Wellness perks: 20% off at The Spa at Whistler and a wellness stipend (for applicable roles)
  • Exclusive partner discounts at local Whistler businesses
  • Flexible schedules and supportive team culture
  • Access to community events and staff appreciation nights
  • Growth opportunities in Whistler’s most dynamic hospitality group – we’re passionate about promoting from within and supporting your career journey.
  • Immersive work environment steps from the mountains – we take our core purpose of “Have Fun” very seriously.

Your Days Will Look Like

  • Lead a full management team—Entertainment Manager, AGM, and Captains—ensuring coverage at all times.
  • Set, review, and track OPPs for leaders; deliver performance reviews with clear growth roadmaps.
  • Maintain accountability rhythms: daily check-ins, weekly Micro Scorecards, monthly P&L, and quarterly performance reviews.
  • Conduct 52 one-on-ones with team members annually to support development and engagement.
  • Recognize, reward, and elevate your team; participate in monthly Team Appie Hours to welcome new members.
  • Optimize the guest journey online and pre-visit, building relationships before they arrive.
  • Own the venue’s entry and atmosphere; ensure warm welcomes and checklist execution.
  • Deliver 5-star service from entry to exit, including post-visit follow-ups to drive loyalty.
  • Build strong community partnerships; meet weekly with local contacts to attract and engage guests.
  • Collaborate with Revenue, Offering, and Pricing teams to maximize profitability and inventory management.
  • Achieve quarterly targets for cover charge, profit, and labor.
  • Plan and submit staff schedules 3 weeks in advance to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Oversee F&B, entertainment, and general inventory to maintain standards and par levels.
  • Execute weekly and annual programming to engage locals, mid-week guests, and weekend visitors.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Previous experience in a leadership role within hospitality, ideally in bars, restaurants, or entertainment venues.
  • Proven track record of driving operational success, profitability, and exceptional guest satisfaction.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and inspire a diverse team.
  • Knowledge of Whistler’s hospitality landscape is a plus.
  • Flexible availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Deep community connections and a passion for mountain culture.

Sound like a fit?

If you’re ready to lead a team, elevate guest experiences, and make a lasting impact on our community, we want to hear from you!

At Gibbons Whistler, our core values—Encourage Trust, Have Fun, Show Kindness, Lead With Purpose, and Commitment to Excellence—guide everything we do. We believe that fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion is essential to living by these core values. We warmly welcome applicants of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences to join us in creating a workplace where kindness thrives and we make people happy!
