YOUR IMPACT

As a Senior Project Coordinator, you'll play a key role in successfully delivering utility construction projects from planning through execution. Working closely with Project Managers and field teams, you'll help keep projects safe, on schedule, on budget, and running smoothly.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Supporting Project Managers to ensure project objectives, policies, procedures, and contractual requirements are achieved
  • Assisting with project reporting and ensuring client reports and invoices are submitted accurately and on time
  • Promoting and complying with all company health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures
  • Assisting with construction schedules, milestones, and project tracking to maintain momentum and meet deadlines
  • Completing quantity take-offs from construction drawings and tracking as-built quantities
  • Supporting contract preparation and assisting with revisions, changes, and negotiations involving clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Assisting with budget analysis, cost forecasting, margin projections, and change management
  • Supporting quality control initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and project stakeholders
  • Preparing progress reports and communicating project status updates
  • Coordinating trades and subcontractors to ensure efficient project execution
  • Managing project documentation and document control processes
  • Purchasing materials and supplies required to support project delivery

WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT

You're a motivated professional who enjoys solving problems, collaborating with teams, and keeping projects moving forward.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or Diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, or Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years of Project Coordination experience within the construction industry
  • 2-4 years of experience working on MTO and/or Utilities projects is considered a strong asset

READY TO SUCCEED? HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED…

We're looking for someone who brings both technical knowledge and strong organizational skills.

Professional Experience & Expertise In:

  • Managing the construction project lifecycle from planning to closeout
  • Applying OTM (Ontario Traffic Manual) standards
  • 3-5 years of experience working within the principles of contract management
  • 3-5 years of construction scheduling, planning, and execution
  • Interpreting Blueprint and drawings
  • Evaluating electrical, structural, and technical designs for traffic signal installation and construction projects
  • Reading and understanding financial statements
  • 3-5 years of experience in project cost tracking and reporting

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project)
  • JD Edwards or Oracle-based ERP systems is an asset

Additional Requirement:

  • Valid Ontario Class G Driver's Licence

The expected salary range for this role is between $65,000 - $80,000 per year. The starting salary will be determined based on several factors such as the successful candidate's qualifications, including but not limited to education and experience. Base pay is one component of Black & McDonald's total rewards package. Total rewards vary by position and may include additional offerings such as group insurance benefits, pension plan, annual discretionary bonus, career development programs, and other HR programs.
