Job description

Manager, Technical Systems & Services – Trans Mountain

Trans Mountain Corporation operates Canada’s only pipeline system transporting oil products to the West Coast. We deliver approximately 890,000 barrels of petroleum products each day through a dual pipeline system of more than 1,150 kilometres of pipeline in Alberta, British Columbia and Washington state. Trans Mountain also operates a state‑of‑the‑art loading facility, Westridge Marine Terminal, with three berths providing tidewater access to global markets. As a federal Crown corporation, we continue to build on more than 70 years of experience delivering operational and safety excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute technology strategy to sustainably evolve solutions that meet the growing needs of the organization, including mobility and collaboration.
  • Maintain the daily operational continuity and performance of all technology systems and services, promptly resolving issues and ensuring the currency and security of solutions.
  • Document and enhance foundational processes, ensuring work is prioritized and structured.
  • Update, maintain and test the IT Disaster Recovery Plan, conduct annual tabletop exercises and support the Business Continuity Plan and emergency management requirements.
  • Assess business needs, design solutions in collaboration with the Architecture team, and deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Lead the Technical Support practice, managing Service Desk, Deskside Support and Field Support to exceed customer experience expectations.
  • Implement process maturity and governance, integrating ITIL and other frameworks.
  • Establish KPIs and KRIs to provide visibility into work and identify risk mitigation opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of technical support experience and leadership of a team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or related field.
  • ITIL, Agile / Lean or PMP certifications are an asset.
  • Extensive knowledge of networks, servers, operating systems, architecture, storage and cloud.
  • Functional knowledge of ITIL and ability to apply its structure.
  • Experience with ServiceNow and reporting is an asset.
  • Understanding of Service Desk / Deskside operations.
  • Experience managing infrastructure technology in an operational technology (OT) environment is an asset.
  • Telecommunications experience, including fiber networks, is an asset.
  • Proficiency with project delivery methodology and frameworks.
  • Previous experience with disaster recovery and business continuity planning, testing and execution.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
  • Relocation Eligibility
