We’re excited to announce an opportunity for a Team Leader in Allied Health at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, one of Alberta’s busiest and most diverse urban hospitals. This dynamic role offers the chance to lead a skilled multidisciplinary team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Recreation Therapists, and Therapy Assistants in delivering high-impact care in a fast-paced acute care environment. As Team Leader, you’ll play a key role in shaping patient care through the development of intervention protocols, education materials, and quality improvement initiatives. You’ll shape clinical practice, mentor staff, and support the clinical teaching of students. Your leadership will help ensure excellence in service delivery and foster a collaborative, supportive workplace culture. You’ll also contribute to research, policy development, and strategic initiatives that elevate Allied Health services. Other responsibilities include supervision, scheduling, vacancy management, program and policy development, and coordination of site-wide initiatives. This is a meaningful opportunity for a skilled Allied Health professional with strong leadership and clinical expertise to make a lasting impact in a diverse urban setting. If you're passionate about advancing patient care and supporting a high-performing team, we welcome you to apply. Apply now and help lead the future of patient care at the Royal Alex.

Description:

As a Physiotherapist II, you will provide coordination of physiotherapy and other allied health clinical services. You will provide supervision of students and team members as assigned. You will work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team providing leadership to other healthcare professionals. You will be making day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge and follow-up. You will make decisions and advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area to ensure safe, efficient and effective client care. You will ensure physiotherapy practice is evidence based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics and AHS policy and guidelines. You will be coordinating the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area and monitoring care delivery, identifying service needs and assisting other medical staff with caseload management, completing chart audits and providing follow-up and feedback to staff. You will participate in program development and operational planning and representing the department on committees or programs. You will make decisions on staffing level requirements, workflow, caseload priorities in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers. AHS is dedicated to supporting our Physiotherapists in their practice area and expanding their skillsets regardless of location. All AHS Physiotherapists have access to a list of experienced clinicians across the province and are able to tap into this resource via email, phone and virtual meetings. As we transition to our Provincial Electronic Medical Record (Connect Care) you will also be able to share patient information real time with these senior clinicians to assist you in providing high quality care.
