Job description

Welder Apprentice (1st or 2nd Year)

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (overtime frequently available)
Employment Category: Temporary-to-Permanent
Worksite: South East Edmonton, Alberta
Starting Wage: $22.80 per hour (plus overtime rates)

We are actively searching for an enthusiastic 1st or 2nd-year Welder Apprentice to become a vital part of our bustling shop floor on a full-time schedule. This represents a fantastic chance for a dedicated tradesperson who is passionate about their craft and eager to advance their career. Our production heavily centers on manufacturing aluminum goods. While prior exposure to MIG welding on aluminum, mild steel, and stainless is highly advantageous, we gladly accept applications from those with foundational welding skills, as we supply comprehensive on-the-job training.

Advantages
Predictable Daytime Hours: Enjoy a stable Monday to Friday routine (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) that ensures your evenings and weekends remain completely your own.

Dependable Weekly Income: Experience the peace of mind that comes with receiving a steady paycheck every single Friday, processed seamlessly via Randstad.

Guided Skill Development & Coaching: Earn while you expand your expertise! We deliver practical, hands-on instruction in highly sought-after techniques like aluminum MIG welding, paired with guidance from our veteran journeyman welders.

Income Growth Potential: Take advantage of our frequent overtime shifts to significantly increase your weekly take-home pay.

Responsibilities
Execute precise MIG welding across a variety of metals, primarily focusing on aluminum, as well as mild and stainless steel (we will provide the specialized instruction needed for aluminum).

Actively contribute to the manufacturing, assembly, and fabrication of premium-grade aluminum commodities.

Provide hands-on assistance to our senior tradespeople across a wide array of shop floor assignments and custom fabrication projects.

Care for and maintain shop machinery, ensuring all welding instruments are kept clean, calibrated, and in peak operational shape.

Strictly adhere to all workplace health and safety guidelines to guarantee a hazard-free environment for yourself and your fellow crew members.

Qualifications
Must hold active registration as a 1st or 2nd-year Apprentice Welder.

Demonstrated foundational welding capabilities (hands-on experience with the MIG process is considered a major asset).

Completion of a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent educational background.

Possession of an up-to-date and valid WHMIS safety certification.

Comfortable undergoing and passing a Criminal Background Check.

A highly motivated attitude, showing a genuine readiness to absorb new information, adapt to changing priorities, and thrive within a high-volume, fast-moving shop.

Summary
Are you prepared to ignite the next phase of your trades career and build valuable expertise in a supportive shop? If this sounds like the perfect fit for your apprenticeship journey, we are absolutely eager to review your application and speak with you!
