Job Description

Position Summary: This role requires expertise in quality inspection processes, problem-solving, and a proactive approach to driving continuous improvement. The successful candidate will collaborate across departments to resolve quality issues and maintain high-quality standards throughout production.Primary/Essential Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the quality control team responsible for incoming, in-process, and final inspections, ensuring strict adherence to company quality standards and procedures.

  • Oversee and evaluate inspection results, addressing any discrepancies and recommending corrective actions to maintain product quality.

  • Ensure that all inspection equipment and tools are properly maintained, calibrated, and in working order to meet production requirements.

  • Collaborate with production teams to understand quality issues and assist in root cause analysis and resolution of quality problems.

  • Implement, lead, and continuously improve quality control procedures, including developing and maintaining work instructions and inspection protocols.

  • Provide regular feedback and performance evaluations for the quality control team; guide, mentor, and develop team members to ensure high performance and skill development.

  • Monitor and report on quality metrics such as defect rates, non-conformance, and corrective actions.

  • Work closely with the production team to minimize quality defects and delays, ensuring that production schedules are met without compromising quality.

  • Manage and control quality audits, inspections, and compliance checks, ensuring that all regulatory and industry standards are met.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using tools like lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, or other quality improvement methodologies.

  • Respond to customer complaints or quality-related issues, working cross-functionally to resolve issues and improve overall quality.

  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and quality reports, ensuring traceability and documentation are compliant with internal and external audits.

  • Assist in the development of training programs to ensure the quality team and production staff are well-versed in quality standards, procedures, and regulations.

  • Ensure all health, safety, and environmental regulations are adhered to during quality inspections.

Required Qualifications:
  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive quality control experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Leadership: Proven experience supervising and leading a team, with a focus on performance management, coaching, and development.

  • Education: High school diploma or GED; a Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.

  • Skills:

    Strong knowledge of quality control techniques and tools (e.g., SPC, root cause analysis, failure analysis).

    Proficient in using quality inspection tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).

    Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.

    Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with ERP and inventory management systems is a plus.

    Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.

  • Other: Strong attention to detail and a hands-on approach to ensuring quality standards are met throughout production.

  • Certifications: Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or ISO 9001 certifications are a plus.

  • Skills: High energy with a proactive, results-driven approach to problem-solving.

  • Experience: Experience in working with electromechanical systems or plant operations.

  • Leadership Style: Strong communicator with the ability to motivate, train, and develop team members.

  • Aptitude: Ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
