Job descriptionAssist with accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, including invoice processing, posting transactions, and reconciling accounts. Prepare and issue customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with contract terms and billing requirements. Process vendor invoices, verify accuracy, and facilitate timely payments while adhering to company policies and procedures. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or outstanding issues promptly. Assist in the processing of biweekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees. Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation, including filing and organizing invoices, receipts, and other accounting documents. Support month-end and year-end close processes by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial reporting tasks. Assist with the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, procurement, and operations, to ensure accurate and efficient processing of financial transactions. Respond to inquiries from internal stakeholders and external vendors regarding billing, payments, and account balances in a professional and timely manner. Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices to ensure compliance and contribute to process improvements. A minimum of 1 year of accounting experience is required. A post-graduate diploma or degree in either business administration or accounting is required. Some experience with payroll is required. Experience using large accounting ERP is a strong asset. Strong communication is required for this role. Ability to work in a cross-functional team.
