Responsibilities :
Manage accounts payable, including posting invoices, issuing cheques, and reconciling outstanding invoices in line with client and firm guidelines.
Perform accounts receivable tasks, such as charging client credit cards and posting cheque and electronic payments.
Handle disbursement postings.
Execute trust-related tasks, including depositing and disbursing trust funds in compliance with Law Society rules.
Prepare and review draft bills, finalizing invoices accurately.
Adhere to established accounting policies and procedures.
Take on additional related duties as required.
What you will need to succeed :
1 year of experience as an accounting clerk.
Basic understanding of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
French is required; English is an asset. Necessary for communication in a primarily French-speaking environment while supporting occasional English interactions.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Keen attention to detail and a client-service-oriented mindset.
Team player with a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities as needed.
Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with law firm billing processes and legal billing software (e.g., Elite or 3E) is highly desirable.
Previous experience in a legal environment is highly desirable.
