Job description

We are currently looking for a QA/QC Valve Technician for a valve and flow control environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing quality inspections on valves from CNC Flow Control, ensuring products meet required specifications, documentation standards, and customer expectations.

When QA/QC work is slower, the candidate will also assist with hands-on valve technician duties, including basic assembly, disassembly, inspection, cleaning, testing, and general shop support.

Location: Edmonton, AB
Pay: $25–$28/hour, depending on experience
Position Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Complete QA/QC inspections on valves and related flow control products
  • Inspect valves for quality, accuracy, damage, defects, and compliance with specifications
  • Review part numbers, tags, markings, paperwork, and documentation for accuracy
  • Use measuring tools and inspection equipment as required
  • Document inspection results and report any quality concerns
  • Assist with valve assembly, disassembly, repair, and testing when QA/QC work is not busy
  • Support technicians with cleaning, prep work, parts handling, and general shop duties
  • Read and follow work orders, drawings, procedures, and inspection requirements
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Follow all company safety, quality, and shop procedures
  • Communicate issues clearly with supervisors, technicians, and quality personnel

Requirements

  • Previous QA/QC, inspection, valve, mechanical, or industrial shop experience preferred
  • Experience with valves, fittings, flow control products, or mechanical components is an asset
  • Comfortable using basic hand tools, measuring tools, and shop equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to read part numbers, work orders, and basic technical documentation
  • Mechanically inclined and willing to assist with hands-on technician work
  • Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Physically able to stand, lift, bend, and work in a shop environment

Preferred Experience

  • Valve inspection, valve repair, or valve testing experience
  • QA/QC experience in an industrial, manufacturing, oilfield, or mechanical shop environment
  • Experience with CNC Flow Control products or similar valve/flow control equipment
  • Forklift, overhead crane, or safety tickets considered an asset
