Job description

TELUS Health is empowering every person to live their healthiest life. Guided by our vision, we are leveraging the power of our leading edge technology and focusing on the uniqueness of each individual to create the future of health. As a global-leading health and well-being provider – encompassing physical, mental and financial health – TELUS Health is improving health outcomes for consumers, patients, healthcare professionals, employers and employees.

In this role, you'll configure our internal defined benefits (DB) pension software solution, and analyze and resolve common issues our clients experience following implementation. While you'll receive guidance from implementation managers when needed, you'll have the autonomy to establish priorities and tackle problems independently or collaboratively as part of a team.

To thrive in this role, you'll need to excel at managing problem resolution by providing clear explanations of issues and charting a path to their resolution. You'll bring strong skills in technology, communication, and problem-solving—the trifecta that makes you an invaluable partner to our clients and team.

What you'll do:

  • Perform detailed analysis of our clients' pension plan calculation rules

  • Act as the link between the client and the project team in terms of pension plan calculations

  • Configure our software to suit the specifics of the client's pension plan

  • Write specifications according to the needs and requests of the clients regarding new developments of the software

  • Ensure the proper integration of the software with other software that will be implemented for the client

  • Participate in the development of the specific testing strategy for the software configuration and new developments

  • Participate in the review of test scenarios with the selection criteria required by the plan

  • Provide support to the quality assurance team

  • Collaborate in the development of the software by providing suggestions for improvement to the responsible team

What you bring:

  • University degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics or finance

  • 8+ years’ experience in the DB pension space

  • 2+ years' experience in DB pension implementation, system configuration and quality assurance testing

  • Mastering of complex DB pension plans calculations

  • Ability to understand and use current computer technologies including an advanced knowledge of Excel software

  • Recognized, among other things, for analytical and summarizing skills, sense of organization and flexibility in terms of managing multiple projects

  • Excellent initiative and problem solving skills

  • Ability to establish priorities, delegate properly and meet timelines

  • Available to travel occasionally (Canada, US)

What's in it for you:

  • Incomparable versatility in pension calculations and plan administration across Canadian and American markets

  • Deep expertise in an innovative and specialized field that sets you apart in the pension industry

  • Multiple implementation projects with leading clients across North America, expanding your portfolio and professional network

  • Flexibility to work from anywhere in Canada while maintaining a healthy work-life balance with comprehensive benefits

  • A corporate culture centered on mutual aid, social impact, well-being, and diversity
