Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise crews on assigned projects, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Assign tasks and communicate project expectations to crew members.
  • Conduct safety meetings, hazard assessments, and vehicle inspections.
  • Prepare daily production and costing reports.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager on project planning, equipment needs, and personnel management.
  • Inspect completed work, document changes, and maintain compliance with customer specifications.
  • Address and resolve on-site crew issues while maintaining morale.
  • Enforce behavioral expectations and uphold a respectful workplace.
  • Ensure adherence to OH&S regulations and company policies.
  • Support or conduct training in safety and traffic accommodation.
  • Track and input daily time cards, safety incidents reports, and document scope changes or extra work.

Qualifications

Education & Certifications

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
  • Class 3 driver’s license with a valid driver’s abstract.

Experience

  • Minimum5 years’ experiencein road construction and highway maintenance.
  • Experience with guardrail installation, signage, crack sealing, spray patching, and bridge deck waterproofing.
  • Familiarity with HCSS costing software is an asset.

Technical Skills

  • Basic equipment maintenance knowledge.
  • Knowledge of general construction specifications and best practices.
  • Strong business communication skills.

Soft Skills

  • Leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Adaptable, flexible, and confident in managing teams.

Working Conditions

  • Physically able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly.
  • Outdoor work in all weather conditions.
  • Use of PPE required.
  • Travel and overtime are required.
  • Must comply with company’s drug and alcohol policy.
