This role is responsible for managing project financial integrity, leading a team of project accountants, and delivering strategic financial insights to support business performance across multiple regions and divisions. The successful candidate will bring strong leadership skills, project finance expertise, and the ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.

Your success will be defined by your ability to:
  • Lead and mentor a team of project accountants, ensuring quality deliverables and professional development
  • Oversee project financial setup and updates to reflect accurate contract values, including change orders and POs
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to review profitability, prepare ETCs/EACs, and address financial issues related to earnings and cash flow
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and corporate policies, including Percentage of Completion (POC) revenue recognition
  • Monitor and optimize working capital, WIP accuracy, and billing conversion
  • Develop budgets, forecasts, and performance dashboards, challenging assumptions to improve accuracy
  • Provide detailed variance analysis and commentary on monthly and quarterly results
  • Support cross-functional teams with financial models, business cases, and reporting improvements
  • Assist with audits, month-end close, and ad hoc reporting requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and lead special projects
Your strengths include:
  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (MBA or accounting designation in progress is an asset)
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in financial and project accounting, ideally in construction or telecom
  • Strong knowledge of POC accounting and internal project controls
  • Advanced Excel skills (macros), Power BI development, and proficiency in Access and PowerPoint
  • Experience with ERP systems and project management modules
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate financial data for non-financial stakeholders
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
