Business Systems Analyst

Department: Information Technology
Reports to: Director of Information Technology
Location: Onsite in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada
Salary Range: $70,000 – $75,000 annually plus benefits & group RRSP

Position Summary
The Business Systems Analyst role works closely with senior members of Information Technology, Development, Sales, Marketing, Outreach, Audience Services, Finance, Ecommerce and Creative Management to understand business needs and translate into effective application workflows and solutions. This collaborative, service-oriented IT team member will partner with Tessitura and associated application vendors to optimize data, processes, reporting and analytics.

Key Responsibilities
• Partner with senior members of Information Technology, Sales, Marketing, Development, Outreach, Audience Services, Creative Management, Finance to identify business needs, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
• Support the administration, optimization, integration of business applications, including Tessitura, TNEW, fundraising, finance, analytics, ecommerce and reporting systems.
• Work with Senior Developer to implement and maintain system and web enhancements.
• Coordinate user acceptance testing, including test planning, execution, issue tracking, and resolution.
• Analyze data, develop dashboards, and business insights.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
• Develop system documentation, procedures, training materials, and knowledge resources.
• Provide support and guidance to users and help troubleshoot application issues.
• Assist with system implementations, upgrades, integrations, and data migrations.
• Monitor system performance and work with vendors to resolve issues.
• Contribute to technology planning, process improvement initiatives, and special projects.
• Promote data quality, security, consistency, and effective use of organizational systems.
• Evaluate and implement approved AI and automation tools to improve reporting, data quality, and internal knowledge management, with appropriate governance and oversight.
• Ensure data integrity, security, privacy, and compliance with organizational standards.
• Assist in maintaining and updating company, board and welcome websites.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
• Post-secondary education in Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 4+ years experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role.
• Working knowledge of SQL, CSS, and content management applications.
• Detail oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving skills.
• Strong understanding of user acceptance testing and software implementation practices.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
• Collaborative, service-oriented IT team member.

Preferred
• Working knowledge of Tessitura, analytics and partner applications an asset.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 automation or AI tools.
• Excellent communications skills, ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure.
• Willing to travel out of country to attend conferences and training.
• In rotation with Senior Developer, provide after hours Tessitura and ecommerce support.
