About the Opportunity

Our client in the financial services and insurance space is seeking an experienced Actuarial Lead to join their team on a contract basis. This role plays a critical part in shaping insurance product performance through pricing, reserving, and data-driven insights that directly impact business decisions and customer offerings.

You will collaborate with a cross-functional group spanning finance, risk, and product teams, while also engaging with senior leadership and external partners. This is an opportunity to contribute to meaningful work in a highly analytical environment, supporting products that protect customers through key life purchases.

What’s In It for You

This is a chance to join a collaborative and highly skilled actuarial team where your insights will be valued and visible. You will gain exposure to senior stakeholders and complex insurance products, while working in an environment that encourages analytical thinking and continuous learning.

The organization fosters a culture of collaboration and accountability, offering flexibility through a hybrid work model and consistent working hours that support balance.

Your Responsibilities

  • You’ll lead actuarial input for income recognition across actuals and forecast models
  • You’ll analyze and compare actual versus priced loss ratios, providing quarterly insights
  • You’ll support pricing and reserving activities for auto-related insurance products
  • You’ll collaborate with finance, risk, and accounting teams to establish appropriate loss provisions
  • You’ll extract and analyze data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • You’ll engage with auditors and senior leadership to support reporting and forecasting accuracy

Skills and Qualifications

  • Actuarial experience, ideally within the insurance industry, plus an ACAS designation
  • Strong experience in pricing and reserving, ideally within property or auto insurance
  • Proficiency in Excel and experience with data tools such as Python, R, or SAS
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data and communicate insights to senior stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, or Economics
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work across cross-functional teams
