Job description

Our client, is seeking an experienced, highly technical SFDC Release Manager (Salesforce DevOps & Release Specialist) to join their digital guest services and customer engagement engineering group.

In this mission-critical technical leadership role, you will play a central part in establishing, scaling, and advancing enterprise Salesforce DevOps capabilities while driving predictable, efficient, and reliable releases across a multi-platform CRM ecosystem. You will design and implement robust CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Salesforce CLI (SF CLI), establish automated branching, merging, and back-deployment workflows, and coordinate end-to-end releases across multiple engineering pods. Collaborating closely with application engineers, technical architects, QA, and product leads, you will eliminate deployment bottlenecks, enforce static code analysis (PMD/Code Analyzer), manage sandbox synchronization, and expand release automation into Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud environments.

Duration: 6-Month Contract (Full-time engagement)

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Based out of Greater Vancouver, BC corporate offices; flexible remote arrangement; operating on Pacific Time)

Advantages
Enterprise DevOps Leadership: Lead the ground-up maturity and scaling of modern Salesforce DevOps and automated release pipelines for a globally recognized enterprise brand.

Modern CI/CD Tech Stack: Hands-on architecture and automation using GitHub Actions, Salesforce CLI (SF CLI), SFDX, and automated static analysis tools.

Multi-Cloud Platform Scope: Expand release governance beyond Service Cloud into advanced architectures, including Marketing Cloud Engagement and Data Cloud (Data 360).

Collaborative Hybrid Culture: Work within a forward-thinking engineering culture that balances hands-on technical automation with cross-functional release orchestration.

Responsibilities
CI/CD Pipeline Engineering: Design, implement, and maintain automated Salesforce CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Salesforce CLI (SF CLI), and custom shell/scripting automation.

Branching & Synchronization Strategy: Define and enforce scalable Git branching strategies (e.g., trunk-based or GitFlow variations), automated PR validation, merge/back-merge workflows, and back-deployment processes across dev, QA, UAT, and production environments.

Code Quality & Automated Testing Gates: Integrate automated quality gates into pipelines, including PMD / Salesforce Code Analyzer, automated Apex test execution, destructive change handling, and metadata dependency checks.

Release Orchestration & Governance: Own the master release calendar, manage release intake, facilitate go/no-go readiness reviews, run deployment runbooks, and lead cutover and post-deployment verification.

Environment & Sandbox Health: Oversee sandbox refresh planning, post-refresh deployment readiness, environment synchronization, and mitigation of environment drift.

Incident Triage & Root Cause Analysis: Troubleshoot pipeline failures, deployment conflicts, and production release defects, implementing permanent preventative safeguards.

Cross-Cloud Modernization: Partner with engineering teams to explore package-based deployments, release observability dashboards (deployment frequency, lead time, failure rates), and CI/CD expansion into Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud.

Qualifications
Salesforce DevOps Mastery: 5+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience in Salesforce DevOps, CI/CD pipeline architecture, and managing complex multi-environment deployments.

CI/CD & Scripting Automation: Proven track record building and maintaining automated pipelines using GitHub Actions and Salesforce CLI (SF CLI), with scripting proficiency in Bash, PowerShell, or Python.

Version Control & Branching Expertise: Deep technical understanding of Git, GitHub, pull request workflows, merge conflict resolution, automated back-deployments, and environment synchronization.

Salesforce Platform Mechanics: Expert-level knowledge of Salesforce metadata, packaging, dependencies, permission sets, destructive changes, and Salesforce DX workflows in VS Code.

Code Analysis & Testing Integration: Hands-on experience integrating static code analysis tools (such as PMD or Salesforce Code Analyzer) and automated Apex testing into CI/CD pipelines.

Release Governance & Traceability: Strong background coordinating release schedules, change approval boards (CAB), rollback procedures, and linking work items through Jira for end-to-end audit traceability.

Eligibility & Location: Legally authorized to work in Canada, based in the Greater Vancouver area for hybrid on-site collaboration, and aligned with Pacific Time business hours.

Preferred Assets & Nice-to-Haves
Experience extending DevOps and version control practices to Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement or Salesforce Data Cloud.

Familiarity with package-based development (unlocked packages) or third-party Salesforce DevOps platforms.

Active Salesforce certifications (e.g., Salesforce Certified Development Lifecycle and Deployment Designer or Administrator).

Summary
If you are a tech-savvy SFDC Release Manager who pairs 5+ years of Salesforce release management experience with hands-on GitHub Actions CI/CD pipeline automation, expert Git branching mastery, and deep Salesforce CLI/metadata knowledge, this 6-month hybrid contract opportunity in the Vancouver area is an ideal next step. Bring your DevOps precision, release governance rigor, and collaborative engineering drive to our client's team today!
