Sanimax is looking for an Transport Health and Safety Specialist to join us! Do you want to add your talent to that of our employees?

The selected candidate will have the opportunity to gain significant experience in Health and Safety, receive training, work closely with Health and Safety teams from other Districts, participate in monitoring the prevention program and in the development of improvement projects in an industrial environment, more specifically in the agri-food sector.

Responsabilities

  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to maintain the Health and Safety culture and support its development;

  • Become familiar with the prevention program and its procedures and ensure the proper maintenance of the program;

  • Support and audit to maintain good work practices;

  • Keep the employee training plan up to date and provide training;

  • Develop tools & processes for improvement, communication methods, and follow-ups to facilitate ownership of Occupational Health and Safety;

  • Participate in OHS programs such as: heat stress prevention, gas exposure prevention, reporting and investigation-analysis, risk identification and management, preparation of postings;

  • Learn and effectively use computer systems and software;

  • Act as a reference resource for leaders and the supervision team to guide decisions and initiatives in Health and Safety;

  • Implement the District’s annual action plans and objectives as well as corporate initiatives and directions;

  • Develop the OHS culture by leading by example and acting as a key contributor in collaboration with the OHS committee and leadership;

  • Perform any other related tasks (participate in various meetings, support operations and transportation teams, etc.);

  • Ensure the proper functioning of Health and Safety committees; field presence, on-the-road support, risk analysis at client sites.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Occupational Health and Safety;

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety or Industrial Relations, college diploma (DEC) or certificate in industrial hygiene, Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent training;

  • Strong teamwork skills and comfort presenting in front of workers and colleagues;

  • Strong analytical skills and critical thinking;

  • Ability to learn quickly, resourcefulness and autonomy;

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple files simultaneously, including prioritization and change management;

  • Experience in the agri-food, food or environmental sector (asset);

  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and related regulations;

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word and Excel.
